One of the key challenges facing marketers in China is creating a work environment that encourages innovation and creative thinking. Chinese students are taught to memorize rather than think creatively, and their culture teaches them not to challenge or contradict superiors, including the boss.
But China is changing quickly. Once the home of cheap knock-offs, manufacturers are becoming innovators, R&D centers are booming and companies like HP are fostering innovation in marketing and sales.
